India gets its first Gender University

Finally, the government of Kerala is gearing up establish its primary kind of gender university in India, while the courses would be completely be research-based on studies associated to gender.

The gender varsity would be located in Kozhikode district in the campus of Gender Park, an independent institution under the state's Social Justice Department.

As per the topmost officials the proposed varsity is based and equipped on the prototype identical to such institutions overseas along with numerous global agencies that have already articulated interest to get associated along with it. 

The South Asian Research Centre based at the Gender Park wouldbe established into a hi-end technically equipped varsity that would be all setup by the coming year and it would be the primary such university in thecountry, Gender Park would be on the segments based upon the current InternationalConference on Gender Equality at close by Kovalam recently. Gender studies havestarted in our country particularly in Kerala at a high time. We had paidattention on industrialization, health and other similar spheres however wehave not been able to focus on the spot of gender equality till now.

This being Kerala government's primary bold step in this spot was the Gender Park. By establishing the Park, the sole motive being introducing a change in gender-related concerns over effectual policy intrusion.

The gender university would carry international approach. While the plan to collaborate with a numerous global establishments in gender studies comprising the London School of Economics. There is another plan to exchange programmes with the hold of the top gender institutes throughout the world.

The curriculum structure and the syllabus of the planned university would not be in accordance to the conventional academic outline.

The Social Justice Department is aspiring towards the introduction of an entirely global-oriented academic practice at the new university along with the aim of gender equality and empowerment behind the move.

Numerous of global agencies counting UN Women that is the co-partner of the Kerala government in the gender summit, had spoken its interest to go through a long-term collaboration with the Gender Park and to connect with India’s primary first gender university.

The booming all-women taxi cab network 'She Taxi' and 'Food on Wheels' are the other major names conceived at the Gender Park.
